THE DIAPER CAKE

After the celebratory night, a young father Vitya visits his wife Lena and their newborn son at the maternity hospital. As the new parents are trying to wake their baby for feeding, they deal with the irreversible changes in their lives and with each other. Meanwhile, the diaper cake silently sits in the room, like a time bomb.Director's Bio:Anastasia Babenko is a Ukrainian filmmaker based in Seattle, WA. Prior to writing and directing, she had worked as a news reporter in Ukraine, Germany, and the U.S. Her short films were screened at Palm Springs ShortFest, Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia, Vienna Shorts, Regard IFF, etc. Besides her artistic practice, Anastasia curates fundraising events benefiting Ukraine. She also serves as a gala producer at the Northwest Film Forum, a nonprofit film and arts center located in Seattle.
